- RENEWALS for 2010/2011
- Renewals for next year, 2010/2011 will begin April 2010.
The time for renewals for the 2010 -
2011 membership year is approaching. We prefer that CSF and
CSF/Properties members in good standing with working keys renew by
mail. You do not need to send us your keys, just continue using
them. Members need to send a check for the amount appropriate to
your class of membership plus any unfilled work-hours along with a
filled out application form to the CSF PO box. Applications will be
included with the ballot mailings. Properties members are not
required to pay dues and but are expected to fulfill the work
requirement. Properties members who were not Club members, but have
joined CSF due to the merger are required to do 1/2 of the annual
work requirement prior to this renewal. Each member is required to
contribute eight (8) hours of labor per year or four (4) hours if
you joined for 1/2 year. A member may pay $10/hr in lieu of hours
not worked.
You may also do a walk-in renewal according to the following
schedule.

Monday May 3rd, 1600-1900, the 3 hours prior to the general meeting

with few exceptions. New member orientations are held on the Saturday

orientation dates using the on-line monthly calendar(s). You may attend
an orientation up to three months before actually joining. Orientation

Frequently Asked Questions
QUESTION:
If I am reading your calendar of events correctly, it appears that
orientation for prospective members is given just ONCE a month. Are
other times available?
ANSWER:
We do operate with volunteers, so we try to keep to a schedule. We do
however utilize several volunteers and some of them are retired and
available at other times if our planned session is unworkable for your
schedule. Orientations take about 2 hours.
QUESTION The annual membership extends from May 1. Do you prorate mid-year applications? Or should I wait until May 1 next year.
ANSWER:
We do prorate the membership by half about November 1 of each year.
Other than that, there isn't any sliding scale by month. About late
March, and April, we credit any new members for the next membership
cycle.
However,
compared to a lot of other things I think these still offers a 'good'
value to you, even if you don't wait until November. However, if you
chose to wait, there are also some publicly available shoots going on
that you can participate in.
QUESTION: I
shoot with my teenage son. Is there a family membership available? Or
do juveniles get to shoot for free, or at reduced rates? ANSWER
: We are a family oriented club. A spouse that completes an orientation
will be issued a separate Badge and key for an additional $10 key fee.
Otherwise, your spouse, children, friends can shot when they are hosted
by you personally. That means you have to be on the range that they are
on. You must be in immediate reach of any minor children who are
shooting. You are responsible for the conduct and safe behavior of any
guests that are shooting with you.
QUESTION:
I would like to know the rules regarding magazine capacity limits
(pistol and rifle), drawing from the holster, and shooting multi-shot
strings (what some ranges call "rapid fire").
ANSWER:
We have no specific prohibitions about magazine capacities, or loading
full magazines. We have no specific prohibitions against drawing from a
holster or rapid fire strings at approved targets
QUESTION:
I would like to know the rules regarding shooting at "bad guy" paper
targets (the ranges I've visited forbid all humanoid targets).
ANSWER: With regard to 'humanoid' target I will quote from our Range Standard Operating Procedures:
"3.7
Only approved paper targets will be used. These targets will NOT be a
"human" type target with human features, personality or details. The
following silhouette type targets are specifically authorized for club
usage: [From NRA nomenclature] B-27, B-273, B-34, B-29, TQ-15, TQ-16,
TQ-19, TQ-20, B-21, B-21x, B-21e, and B-30.
3.8
Metal targets will be shot at only on B, C, and E ranges and at a
minimum distance of 40 meters with adequate backstop. They must be free
swinging or knock down. All shots must impact the backstop berm.
3.9 Bowling pins may be shot on the pistol range only."
QUESTION: Does the club allow .50 BMG rifle on the high power ranges?
ANSWER: We have NO restrictions on calibers at the new range.
QUESTION: I’ve seen fresh elk tracks at the range. Can I hunt animals on the range facilities as a member?
ANSWER: No!. All wildlife and domestic animals are protected on Club property. No hunting on club property is allowed.
